What happens when a patient calls
01
It answers
Picks up in your office’s name, at lunch, after hours, and on weekends.
02
It listens
Asks for the caller’s name, phone number, and the reason for the call.
03
It books or hands off
Books a visit on your calendar. Urgent calls go straight to your staff.
04
You get a summary
Your front desk reads a short written summary of every call.
Not for emergencies
If a caller describes an emergency, the receptionist tells them to hang up and call 911, and alerts your staff.
Getting started takes a free consultation and about a week of setup. After that we check it every month and fix anything that is off.
A note on what patients tell the phone
Patients share private details on the phone. We set up the receptionist to ask only what your front desk would ask.
Asks for a name, a phone number, and the reason for the call
Does not give medical advice or talk about test results
Hands urgent calls to your staff

You get the number before we start, and it stays put.
Setup, one time
Depends on how many lines, locations, and tools you run. We quote it after the consultation.
Monthly
One flat fee to AI Works Hawaii. It covers the software, your business phone number, texting, and support. There is no software account for you to set up or pay for. Month to month.
Includes the AI receptionist, missed call texts, voicemail, appointment reminders, and review requests.
Depends on how many lines and locations you run. We quote it after the consultation.
Want text only, with no AI voice? We quote that too.
Landlines cannot get texts. If a landline caller leaves a voicemail, you still get it.

Drew and Joy Monahan live here on Oahu.
They’ve both lived in Hawaii for most of their lives.
Drew spent years at First Hawaiian Bank, ADP and ProService, working with Hawaii businesses every day. He knows how hard it is to run businesses in Hawaii. He does the setup and will push for more AI!
Joy is a homemaker, a constant tinkerer, and the handy woman of the house. She also works with service providers all day, so she knows how frustrating it is on both sides when a call goes unanswered. She does not love AI… at all. She will make sure that any AI we use sounds like a real person.
Drew and Joy answer every email between the two of them. You will not get passed to a call center on the mainland.

Questions practices ask
Does it give medical advice?
No. It does not give medical advice or talk about test results. It takes a message and passes it to your staff.
Is it going to sound like a robot?
Email us and we will send you a recording of a real call. Decide for yourself. Prefer no AI voice? Ask about our text only plan.
What happens if a caller has an emergency?
The receptionist tells the caller to hang up and call 911. It also alerts your staff.
Do I have to switch my scheduling software?
No. We work with your phone and your calendar. Ask us about your scheduling software at the consultation.
Is patient information kept private?

How long until it is working?
Call answering takes about a week from the day you say go. Texting starts after the phone carriers approve your business, usually one to three weeks. We do the paperwork.
